We offer classes in a range of dance styles. We cater to all ages, all stages, beginner to professional.

We teach the AJDA syllabus – American Jazz Dance Affiliation. Exams are held once a year and while encouraged, they are optional.

The Jazz Syllabus is structured on a progressional basis that starts at age five years and progresses through 14 levels to Advanced and Solo Seal. The work fully trains the Student in all aspects of basic Ballet techniques and the dynamics of technique required to encourage performance, style and the sheer enjoyment of Dance.  We use new release music in class – music our young dancers can relate to!

Lyrical - Jazz Ballet

Lyrical is a graceful, more classical Jazz Ballet type class with a contemporary feel. Students dance in flowing circular skirts and bare feet or half shoes.  Students taking these classes do so to build on their ‘Jazz’,  improving deportment, posture, technique & expression. We encourage our jazz dancers to also attend a Lyrical class.  We do have students who just come for Lyrical only.  Exams are optional.

New students are welcome throughout the year if spaces are available. There is no uniform but ask children wear suitable clothing. Farmers leotard, leggings and a tee shirt.

Contact us to enquire, check space is available. We have two teachers in preschool classes and parents are encouraged to wait outside the dance studio. Let your child learn, listen and follow for the half hour on their own.

Syllabus and Medal test exams are offered in Jazz, Lyrical, & Dancesport. While encouraged, they are always optional.

NSDC has had a hand in teaching many successful dancers over the years. Students have successfully gained places in National Theatre Productions, Film, Television, Music Clips and become successful Dance Teachers themselves. All students have learned, made friends and had a load of fun along the way.

Results and success aside, we are able to offer all students quality dance education, a chance to experience the buzz of applause and performance while learning to appreciate the discipline, athleticism and art of dance.

Social Dancing

Ballroom, Latin and New Vogue Classes

Everyone is welcome, come by yourself or bring a friend – no partner is required! You can start classes at any time of the year as the classes are designed for new people to join in. Our experienced teachers will help you feel at ease, so much so that they will have you dancing during your first lesson.

Given that not everyone wants to be a competition champion, our lessons are structured to get you up and dancing whilst having a great time enjoying wonderful music, exercise and the chance to meet like minded people.

If you want to take your dancing further to medal examinations or competitions, we offer a full range of lessons to help you achieve your goals.

Group lesson cost: $90 for 6 sessions (first class is free for new students)

Wedding Dance

Your Wedding Dance At North Shore Dance Centre, we know how important your wedding is. It is the event that you will remember and cherish forever, so let us prepare you for your wedding dance/s so that you can be confident and at ease so that your family and friends will see you at your best.

Bring in your favourite music (or let us help you choose the music), and we will do the rest.

Most couples average four to six lessons for something basic with a bit of flair. We can teach you something more traditional (waltz or foxtrot) or more upbeat like rock n’ roll; the options are endless! Generally, the music you choose will dictate what sort of dance will fit best, but make sure you choose a song that is meaningful so you can dance your own story.

Our goal is to make learning the first dance fun and enjoyable, not a headache or another stress. We will provide you with a good structure, technique and the choreography to fit the music while making it look natural, fun and entertaining so that your guests will delight in sharing this memorable moment.

Bring your wedding party

How about adding to the fun and have all the wedding party learn to dance at the same time? Your matron of honour, bridesmaids, best man and groomsmen can learn with you and support you through the dance.

Give yourselves plenty of time to learn as we know how hectic your schedule will get as the big day comes closer, so contact us and start early!

NB. Please bring your chosen song with you to each lesson on phone, CD or USB.
